Cell site expertise documented

Much of our digital forensic and cyber investigation work is sensitive or confidential and therefore must remain private and unheralded. So, when we do have an opportunity to ‘go public’ and to help people better understand what we do and how we do it, we are always ready to cooperate!

A growing interest in true crime, real-life policing and forensic science has given rise to several documentary series in recent years, with episodes given over to recreating investigations of a wide range of serious criminal cases.

Secrets of the Murder Detectives (Series 1, Episode 12: The Murder of Aseel Al-Essaie) and Forensics: The Real CSI (Series 3, Episode 2: The Gold Heist) are two such series and we have been delighted to be able to contribute to both.

Cell site Experts Dr Matt Tart and Kevin Weeks took their respective opportunities to explain the role of cell site analysis and highlight how cell site evidence impacted their particular investigations. As one of the least mature but most nuanced of the digital forensic sciences, this sort of high-profile TV platform for showcasing cell site and furthering understanding is invaluable.
