Digital forensics and cyber security specialist CCL Solutions Group has announced the appointment of Seamus O’Reilly as its new Technical Director, Cyber Services.
Seamus will oversee a major expansion of CCL’s cyber service portfolio and its team, building on its strong CHECK and CREST accredited pen testing base across both public and private sectors. A key objective is to move demand beyond the ‘standard’ annual pen test regime, with a focus on highly bespoke web and mobile application testing and the development of red and purple teaming.
Noel McMenamin, CCL’s CEO, comments:
“We’re delighted to have Seamus on board to help us maximise the potential of our cyber security team. Cyber risk is growing exponentially, and we know we can offer so much more protection. That journey starts here, with an immediate expansion around more specialist, custom pen testing engagements, to complement our existing network and Cloud testing. There will also be a drive to enhance our red and purple team resources, and promote current social engineering, PCI compliance and Cyber Essentials training and certification services more widely.”
CCL will be drawing on Seamus’s own 20-year pedigree as a pen testing consultant specialising in aggressive red team engagements, social engineering, and infrastructure and application testing. Seamus adds:
“Any new role is exciting but there’s always that extra thrill when you’re not just tasked with managing an existing team but challenged to grow it and expand the capabilities on offer. CCL already has a stellar reputation in the CHECK and CREST world and we are increasingly being invited back in for custom testing projects and sophisticated vulnerability assessments. That’s where we need to push on, to ensure we are maximising the ways we can protect organisations and individuals from cyber harms."
“And beyond the role there’s also the company. CCL appealed to me as it is set up a little differently to your classic cyber business. There’s this huge value add for clients in that alongside all the offensive security measures we’re also able to tap into in-house knowledge and resources around OSINT and dark web monitoring, incident response and post-breach/cyber investigations, as well as forensic collection and analysis. That’s a unique ‘one-stop-shop’ offer and one I’m keen to support and grow.”
